Meet Cora Amaya Ligori – Resident Dental Hygenist!

How long have you lived in Jackson (or the surrounding area)?

I have lived in Jackson for 11 years.

What made you decide to move to Jackson?

I met my husband, Jim Ligori, while working at a summer camp in the mountains of NC. Jim is a Jackson local. He wanted to settle in his hometown… and when I saw the Tetons I couldn’t resist!

What made you interested in becoming a dental professional, and how long have you worked in dentistry?

My mother was a registered dental hygienist, so I was exposed very early to dentistry. I have always enjoyed working with people. I was attending UNC Chapel Hill undergrad when I chose to major in Dental Hygiene. UNC has a wonderful school of dentistry. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2005 and was licensed in the State of NC the next month. I have held my Wyoming Dental Hygiene license since 2007.

What’s your perfect Summer and Winter day in the Tetons?

My perfect summer day would include my family and the great outdoors. I love everything that Jackson has to offer including hiking, boating, fishing, horseback riding… all of which can also be found at Teton Valley Ranch Camp where my husband works. In the winter, I enjoy snowmobiling to our family’s cabin near Togwotee Pass and snowshoeing or cross country skiing. A nice powder day skiing is always a highlight!

What is your favorite aspect of being a part of Larsen Family Dentistry?

We not only have the best team members at Larsen Family Dentistry, but we also have the best patients. I love meeting new people, making connections, and running into them around our community.

If you could give one piece of advice to new or returning patients, what would it be?

The best dental insurance anyone can invest in is regular dental cleanings and checkups. Our goal is always prevention, and those who come in regularly spend less money “fixing” problems. “Dentistry isn’t expensive, neglect is”.
